We found the staff were slightly incompetent..the bar person didn't know what a hod toddy was! we made it ourselves as they weren't interested in helping us. We had to wait to be seated for breakfast every moring, there was no real system. Just too busy and not enough tables to cater for all the guests. I booked a massage and it was cancelled. I wasn't told about it until it was too late by a message on my hotel room phone which I wasn't going to get as I was out all day sightseeing! Anyway, it was ok there but doubt I would stay again. Very expensive as well..£7 for a small glass of wine!

Elephant House - little cafe where Harry Potter started, found it randomly, very nice. You can see Hogwarts, I mean Edinburgh Castle out the window in the back.

Lovely hotel, located very close to the Royal Mile. Room was lovely with plenty storage and good in room amenities. Facilities were excellent - used both the Spa and the leisure centre. Breakfast was great - cooked fresh to order. Staff were incredibly friendly and professional throughout. Recieved an excellent value package booking through Just One Hotel.

Initial impression of the room allocated was OK, but one quickly became aware that it was need of refurbishment: so loose that it wouldn't function; one or more of the main table's legs were at a very odd angle (very loose); and the paintwork and the wall paper was badly damaged!
