Hotel was really nice, staff friendly and pleasant. The rooms were very spacious and we had a great view of the castle.Would also recommend the ghost tours which are readily available on the royal mile.
Top Tip
We discovered on the last day the quickest way to the royal mile is walking straight uphill towards the castle rather than going along princess street.

One thing that occurred to me was that there were no towel rails in the bathroom.

Hotel was very nice but rather expensive. Bar next door was lovely and breakfast very good.

Ideally positioned for walking to princess street, grass market and the castle.
Food in the restaurant was very good and the staff very pleasant. If booking a double room try for rooms 425 to 429, you will be looking straight at the castle and over edinburgh.

A well-located hotel; rooms bit basic but perfectly adequate tho' could do with some updating of furniture & bathroom fittings. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Top Tip
Recommend Brown's restaurant in George St. Also check out the museums in the Royal Mile - they're quaint, interesting & free!

The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.
The only problem was that the shower was too powerful but with bath facilities too this wasn't too much of a problem

Botanical gardens were lovely and the portrait gallery was my favourite of the national gelleries.
As for food...Creelers was delicious and The Mussel Inn is good and reasonably priced if you like shellfish.
