Only adverse comment is not very child friendly for use of pool, very restrictive hours.

Although an impressive inner entrance to the hotel , this was not matched in the room. Also it would have been nice to have had the outside of the hotel tidied up and the fountains cleared out and working. In the room, you do expect more than a share of a 'complimentary' biscuit and 2 tea bags and 2 sugars on the tray, in a 5 star hotel. The bordering on shabby room was more 2/3 star. We think we will stick to the small hotels rather than a chain in future. Breakfast was lovely though and the staff very pleasant.

The restaurants/pubs on Grassmarket are super and fun to visit.
If you're a new visitor to Edinburgh, the city tour buses with guides are great fun, informative and worth the £10.
